GREAT PUBLIC EDUCATION CREATES OPPORTUNITIES.

GINA DELIVERS RESULTS.

Fighting to protect public education for all Texans. Join her today in fighting for a moratorium on all charters and expansions, equitable funding for all classrooms regardless of zip code, and eliminating punitive consequences from standardized tests.

Georgina Cecilia Pérez, a Democrat, is the State Board of Education representative for District 1, representing students, parents, and educators in 40 counties in West Texas and over 900 miles along the Texas-Mexico border.

Gina is an El Paso native and proud graduate of Eastwood High School in the Ysleta Independent School District. She served as an eighth-grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher, department chair, pre-service and new-service teacher mentor, and professional development educator in the same district for more than a decade.

"I am deeply humbled by the faith you have placed in me, and I am so excited about our last year on the State Board of Education.
2022 demands that we all remain focused on protecting public education for all Texans. We must fight for a moratorium on all charters and expansions, equitable funding for all classrooms regardless of zip code, and eliminating punitive consequences from standardized tests."

There is so much more work to be done, which is why I have wholeheartedly endorsed Dr. Melissa Ortega -
the most qualified teacher candidate to pick up the torch and carry our district forward.

Civil Rights: A Global Perspective
Course Proposal & Supplemental Course Material

Moral leadership and character development in public schools is of paramount importance. One of the key reasons our organization exists is to support the local public school as the leadership training ground for our young people in values that make our world a better place for everyone. There is no better figure in American history than Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. to convey the timeless principles of love, non-violence, and justice. This course outlines these principles in a concise and dynamic way for the current generation of students, challenging them with taking their own responsibility for a more just and equitable world. We wholeheartedly affirm and endorse it!
